Getting Dressed
Meet Riley Kim, fashion tastemaker, new mama, and marketer for Bloomingdales who lives down South with her husband in Charleston. We sat down with Riley to chat about what’s currently inspiring her wardrobe, how she puts outfits together, including her Goldie Tee.
How would you describe your personal style?
Honestly, my style is constantly evolving. As of late, I would describe it as classic with a streetwear twist (I always seem to be able to justify a new pair of sneakers). I love bringing an "on-paper simple outfit" to life with fun shoes or layered jewelry. I'm working on refining what is in my closet, so this approach is a game-changer.

Investment pieces/cost per wear have been big fashion topics as of late. In my opinion, items worth spending a little bit more on are a good pair of denim (not too skinny, not too oversized, not cropped), white tees (long sleeve, short sleeve, oversized, slightly cropped), and comfy black boots (with a little heel). You can build any outfit around these pieces.
What is your daily uniform?
I am so excited to be able to wear jeans again as denim has long been a part of my daily uniform. Fall is my favorite season to dress for, and Charleston, my home for now, is serving up fall temps. You will catch me nowadays in straight-leg denim, a knit layered over a long sleeve tee, and my favorite sneakers as of late, my leopard sambas.
How do you balance work and your personal life?
Planning! I know this may sound counterintuitive as planning can be tedious and stressful, but I find myself more at ease and less stressed throughout the work week when I plan things to look forward to. For me, this often takes the form of workout classes or early dinner dates. The new hurdle I'm facing, however, is balancing motherhood and personal life. I saw this quote that described postpartum/motherhood as "not being productive or relaxing but a secret third thing," and I could not relate more.
What is your favorite Goldie Tee and how do you style it?
I always find myself gravitating towards the ribbed long sleeve tees. I love how they feel layered under knits and love how they look paired with denim and a good blazer. I have been leaning more into neutral outfits, so to give them dimension, I play with texture. The ribbed detail of these tees adds just the right amount of texture to my outfits.
